Palakura Mamidikaya Pappu / Spinach Raw Mango Dal - Dal Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Toor Dal
- 2 cups chopped Spinach/Palakura
- 1 small Mango chopped
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 1 sp Red chilli Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 pinch Inguva
- 2 Red Chillies
- Curry Leaves
- 1 sp Oil

Instructions
- Clean, wash the spinach leaves thoroughly and chop them into small pieces and keep aside.
- Wash and soak toor dal for 10 mins, wash raw mango, peel off the skin and cut it into small pieces.
- In a medium pressure cooker add the soaked toor dal, chopped spinach, green chillies, chopped mango pieces and add 1 cup of water into it.
- Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles, turn off the flame and allow it to cool.
- Once the cooker cool remove the lid and add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and mix it well, let it cook on low flame for a couple of mins and remove from the heat.
- Heat 1 sp oil in a small frying pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add it to cooked dal mixture and mix well and transfer into a serving bowl.
- Spinach mango dal/palak mamidikaya pappu is ready to serve, serve with white rice or roti.
