Ingredients

  • 1 cup Urad Dal
  • 4 cups Rice
  • 1/4 cup Beaten Rice/Poha
  • 1/2 sp Methi Seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for dosa frying

Instructions

  1. Soak urad dal and rice in separate bowls.
  2. Beaten rice also soak in a bowl separately.
  3. Grind urad dal, rice along with poha into a thick and smooth paste.
  4. Mix it well and allow it for fermenting overnight or 8 hours.
  5. After that add salt and enough water to the batter and make it to pouring consistency.
  6. Heat a griddle and grease it with oil before pouring the batter.
  7. Pour a ladle full of the batter at the center of the pan and spread the batter quickly.
  8. Now apply little oil around the edges of the dosa.
  9. When the edges start browning flip the dosa with flipper.
  10. Then pick the edges and fold it over the other side.
  11. Now plain dosa is ready to serve, serve hot with chutney.
