Puttu Recipe/Sweet Puttu–How to Make Sweet Puttu with Idly Rava without Puttu Maker
Ingredients
- 1 cup Idly Rava
- 1 cup grated Jaggery
- 1/4 cup grated fresh Coconut or Dry Coconut
- few chopped Cashew Nuts
- 2 sp chopped Pista
- 1 sp Elaichi Powder
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 1 pinch Salt
Instructions
- Heat a pan add idly rava and dry roast it in low flame till it becomes light brown color, then remove from the pan and leave it for a couple of mins, then grind it to a powder.
- Once cooled add 1/4 cup of water or enough water, little salt and prepare a thick dough and keep it onto a greased idly plate and prepare idly by steam cooking until done.
- Allow it to cool, once done crumble idlis with hand into a fine powder and add, elaichi powder, grated jaggery and mix well.
- Heat ghee in a small frying pan add chopped cashew nuts and fry, when done add into rava mixture along with ghee, add grated coconut and mix well with hand.
- Now idly rava sweet puttu without puttu maker is ready, fill the mixed puttu tightly in any of your favorite bowl and place them on a serving plate to get cute shape.
- Garnish with chopped pistas, cashew nuts and serve. I used small plastic tea glass to form cute rava puttu.
