Raw Banana Carrot Gravy Curry Recipe / Aratikaya Carrot Mudda Kura

Ingredients

  • Raw Banana/Plantain
  • 1 Carrot
  • 3 Green Chillies chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 2 Onion chopped
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 sp Coriander Seeds
  • 2 sp grated Coconut/Dry Coconut
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel aratikaya, carrot and cut into small pieces & keep aside.
  2. Heat a pan add coriander seeds and dry roast, then remove from flame.
  3. When it cooled grind into powder along with coconut and keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a pan add popu, once done add curry leaves, green chillies & onion.
  5. Fry till onion is tender add ginger garlic paste and fry for 30 secs.
  6. Add tomatoes and fry for 1-2 mins and add carrot, aratikaya pieces & mix well.
  7. Add salt, turmeric powder and 1/4 cup of water and stir well.
  8. Cook with a cover on low-medium flame, keep stirring in middle.
  9. Once cooked add red chilli powder, ground powder and mix well.
  10. Continue to cook on low flame for a couple of mins & turn off the flame.
  11. Transfer into a serving bowl, carrot aratikaya curry is ready to serve.
  12. Aratikaya carrot curry is a very tasty dish. It goes well with rice and rotis.
