Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3 Elaichi Pods
  • Oil for deep fry

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice for 1 hour and strain for 10 mins.
  2. Grind the soaked rice into fine powder like ariselu flour.
  3. Grind sugar along with elaichi pods into a coarse powder and add in rice flour.
  4. Grind together for 30 secs and remove from the jar and keep aside for 15 mins with lid.
  5. After that mix well the rice flour-sugar mixture, if needed add a little milk.
  6. Make a soft dough and divide into small balls out of it.
  7. Heat oil in a frying pan, shape the balls into small vadas and fry them until brown in color.
  8. Remove from the oil and drain them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  9. Hanuman appalu/Ganesh burelu are ready for naivedyam, its very crispy and tasty.
