Spinach Carrot Pulav / Palak Carrot Pulav / Carrot Palak Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 2 cups chopped Spinach
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 2 no Carrot finally chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 sp Coriander Seeds
  • 1 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 4 Cloves
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry Leaves
  • Coriander Leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice for 15 mins and keep it aside.
  2. Dry roast coriander seeds, 1/2 sp cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, cloves, let it cool.
  3. Once done grind the roasted spices together with onion, green chillies and ginger garlic paste.
  4. Grind them to a smooth paste, adding with little water.
  5. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds, curry leaves and fry.
  6. Now add ground masala paste and fry until the oil separates.
  7. Add chopped carrot and saute for a couple of mins then add chopped spinach for a while.
  8. Then add soaked rice, salt, turmeric powder and mix it well.
  9. After that transfer the whole rice mixture to rice cooker bowl and add 21/2 cups of water and cook.
  10. Or cook in a pressure cooker with 2 cups of water.
  11. Now Palak carrot pulav is ready to serve, serve hot with raita.
