Biyyam Rava Idli Recipe / Rice Rava Idli - how to make Rice Rava Idli
Ingredients
- 1 cup Urad Dal
- 2 cups Rice Rava / Biyyam Nooka
- Salt to taste
- 1 pinch Cooking Soda (optional )
Instructions
- Wash and soak urad dal in water for 2-3 hours and drain.
- Grind the soaked urad dal to a fine paste with enough water in a blender and transfer it into a bowl.
- Add rice rava to ground urad dal paste and combine well, cover and keep aside to ferment over night.
- Once the batter is fermented add salt, cooking soda and mix well.
- Add enough water to the fermented batter and make it a thick pouring consistency.
- Grease the idli plates with little ghee/oil and fill with the idli batter.
- Place the idli plates in the idli cooker and cook for 10 to 15 mins.
- Once done turn off the heat and leave it for 2-3 mins and remove from the moulds.
- Now biyyapa rava idlis are ready to serve, serve hot with chutney and sambar.
