Ridge Gourd Thick Stew Recipe / Birakaya Mudda Pulusu / Beerakaya Pulusu
Ingredients
- 2cups chopped Ridge Gourd/Beerakaya
- 1 big Onion chopped
- 2 Tomatoes chopped
- 4 Green Chillies chopped
- 2" Tamarind Flake
- 1 pinch Turmeric powder
- 1 sp Red Chilli powder
- 1 sp grated Jaggery/Sugar (optional)
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- Curry leaves
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- In a bowl place ridge gourd pieces, chopped onion, tomatoes, green chillies and pressure cook along with tamarind.
- Once done turn off the flame and allow it cool, Once cooled remove the lid and mash it well.
- Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, cooked ridge gourd mixture and mix well.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, jaggery and stir well, cook for a couple of mins, then turn off the heat and transfer into a serving bowl.
- Now tasty and spicy ridge gourd thick stew is ready, serve hot with rice or roti.
