Chow Chow Dal with Moong Dal / Seema Vankaya Tiyya Pappu / Bangalore Vankaya Dal

Ingredients
1 small cup Moong Dal/Pesara Pappu
1 no Chow Chow/Sema Vankaya
4 Green Chillies chopped
1 pinch Turmeric Powder
2 sp Lemon Juice
Salt to taste
For Popu :
1/4 sp Mustard Seeds
1/2 sp Urad Dal
1 Red Chilli crocked
1 pinch Hing / Inguva
4 Garllic Cloves
Curry Leaves
Instructions
Wash and peel seem vankaya/chow chow and cut into small pieces. Combine and pressure cook dal, green chillies, chow chow pieces. Let the cooker cool remove the lid and mash it.
Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry. When they splutter add curry leaves, crushed garlic cloves and fry for a while Then add in cooked dal mixture, salt and turmeric powder.
Mix well and continue to cook for a couple of mins, then turn off the flame. Now add lemon juice and mix everything well. Now seema vankaya tiyya pappu is ready. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve with rice and roti.
