Simple Spinach Dal Recipe / Palakura Pappu / Palak Dal - Dal Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Toor Dal/Kandi Pappu
- 2 cups chopped Palakura/Spinach
- 2 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1" Tamarind Flake
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Red Chilli Crocked
- Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- Clean, wash and chop palakura/spinach into small pieces. Pressure cook toor dal, palakura/spinach, onion, green chilles and tamarind flake. Let the cooker cool, once cooled remove the lid and mash the dal mix.
- Heat oil in a fry pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, dal mix and stir well. Now add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Allow it to cook for 5 mins on low flame. Then turn off heat and transfer into a serving bowl. Now palakura pappu/spinach dal is ready to serve, serve with white rice or rotis.
