Thotakura Pachadi / Amaranth Leaves Chutney

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped Thotakura / Amaranth Leaves
  • 1/2 lime size soaked Tamarind
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 4 Dry Red Chillies
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 1/4 sp Coriander Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Methi Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 pinch Inguva
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan add chana dal, urad dal, mustard seeds, coriander seeds & fry, once done remove from the pan & keep aside.
  2. Fry chopped thotakura, green chillies in the same pan and fry them until the leaves are soft then remove from the pan & let it cool.
  3. Grind fried popu, soaked tamarind, salt and turmeric powder, next add fried thotakura & grind slightly, if needed add little water.
  4. Thotakura pachadi is ready to serve, serve with hot rice along with ghee.
