Tomato Dal Recipe/Tomato Dal with Moong Dal/Tomato Pesarapappu

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Moong Dal
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 3 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 sp Coriander Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves
  • 1 pinch Inguva
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash moong dal and cook on stove top or pressure cook and keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan popu ingredients and fry, when done add curry leaves, chopped green chillies, ginger garlic paste and stir for a minute next add chopped tomatoes.
  3. Add all the powders, salt and mix well, cover and cook until soft, then add in cooked dal and mix it well, add little water if required.
  4. Let it cook for 2 or 3 minutes, after that turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl.
  5. Now Tomato dal is ready, garnish with coriander leaves and serve, serve hot with rice or roti.
