Salt Venna Undalu / Spicy Butter Balls – Sri Krishna Janmashtami Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 cup Semolina/Suji/Bombay rava
- 2 sp Butter/Venna
- 1/2 sp Ajwain/Vamu
- 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 pinch Cooking Soda
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep fry
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl combine above all ingredients (except oil) and mix together
- Then add enough water and make a dough like chapathi dough and keep aside for 30 mins with cover.
- After that knead it again and make small marble sized balls and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan for deep fry, once hot fry them on medium heat until golden brown color, then remove from the pan and keep them aside.
- Repeat the same process with the remaining dough balls, now venna undalu/spicy butter balls are ready for naivedyam to Lord Sri Krishna.
- Spicy butter balls is usually made at home during traditional festivals such as Gokulashatmi & Vinayaka Chavithi.
