Sweet Poha With Jaggery – Sri Krishna Janmasthami Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Thick Poha/Atukulu/Beaten Rice
  • 1 cup grated Jaggery
  • 1/2 cup grated Fresh Coconut
  • 1 pinch Elaich Powder
  • 2 sp chopped Cashew Nuts
  • 2 sp Raisins
  • 2 sp Ghee

Instructions

  1. Take poha in a colander and wash under running water, then drain the water completely & keep aside.
  2. Meanwhile, heat ghee in a pan add chopped cashew nuts, raisins and fry on low flame till they turn light brown now add in grated coconut and fry for 1 min then remove from the pan.
  3. In a pan add 1/2 cup of water, jaggery and boil, when the jaggery dissolves completely then filter it to remove the impurities.
  4. Now again boil the jaggery syrup, when the jaggery syrup thickens add strained poha and stir well & cook for 1 min on low flame.
  5. Lastly add fried coconut mixture, elaichi powder and stir well until well combined then turn off the flame.
  6. Now Coconut jaggery poha is ready for naivedyam to Bhagavan Sri Krishna.
