Sweet Poha With Jaggery – Sri Krishna Janmasthami Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 cup Thick Poha/Atukulu/Beaten Rice
- 1 cup grated Jaggery
- 1/2 cup grated Fresh Coconut
- 1 pinch Elaich Powder
- 2 sp chopped Cashew Nuts
- 2 sp Raisins
- 2 sp Ghee
Instructions
- Take poha in a colander and wash under running water, then drain the water completely & keep aside.
- Meanwhile, heat ghee in a pan add chopped cashew nuts, raisins and fry on low flame till they turn light brown now add in grated coconut and fry for 1 min then remove from the pan.
- In a pan add 1/2 cup of water, jaggery and boil, when the jaggery dissolves completely then filter it to remove the impurities.
- Now again boil the jaggery syrup, when the jaggery syrup thickens add strained poha and stir well & cook for 1 min on low flame.
- Lastly add fried coconut mixture, elaichi powder and stir well until well combined then turn off the flame.
- Now Coconut jaggery poha is ready for naivedyam to Bhagavan Sri Krishna.
